Friends of Amani Canada is a national network of volunteers united in furthering Amani’s mission. Friends of Amani Canada is a group of committed and caring people who work together to raise support and awareness for the Amani children in Tanzania.
Amani Children’s Home is committed to reducing the number of street kids in Tanzania by providing a nurturing place for homeless children to heal, grow, and learn.
Who we help
There are many children living in Tanzania that have little to no choice but to turn to the streets for survival. Many factors, including poverty, neglect, family breakdown, losing one or both parents to HIV/AIDS, verbal, physical, and sexual abuse that force children to escape to the streets. Friends of Amani Canada accept donations and conduct fundraisers to help bring the children who can't help themselves.
Millions of young people in the developing world do not have access to a safe home or education. With the intention of changing this reality, Magen Boys Entertainment joined forces with a team of Toronto professionals, students & activists to develop Grads Go Global: a one-of-a-kind philanthropic campaign & bash, built to inspire, empower & unite Toronto’s student body.
We have chosen to raise money for Amani Children's Home, a haven of safety for Tanzania's street children since 2001. In 2016, Amani won the prestigious AFRICA NGO LEADERSHIP AWARD for its "excellent leadership, and exemplary track record in making a real difference in the lives of street children in Tanzania".
Since it's inception in 2012, Grads Go Global has raised over $185,000 for Amani, funding the construction of a youth transition house at Amani in 2016. Grads Go Global is committed to helping Amani to rescue street children as young as 8 who have been orphaned or left homeless because of extreme poverty and abuse. We help provide them with a safe home, an education, and hope for their future. For more information on the Grads Go Global event visit the website at www.gradsgoglobal.com
